New Product    TCP/IP Alarm Dialler

Micron's new ED8/16 TCP/IP alarm dialler provides up to 16 inputs and offers secure TCP/IP Contact ID alarm reporting via the internet at a very affordable price.

With secure, native mode Contact ID through ethernet alarm reporting, the ED8/16 dialler communicates with most existing central station receivers configured for ethernet connectivity.
The ED8/16 can be accessed by a locally connected or remote internet connected computer via the dialler’s IP address, with multi level security.

Programming screens for Output Setup, Contact ID Events and TCP/IP Setup provide a very intuitive graphical user interface that makes dialler programming easy and fast.

A ‘Firmware Upgrade’ option on the TCP/IP Setup screen enables the remote downloading of new versions of the ED8/16 firmware from micron’s secure web site.

The ED8/16 dialler supports CBC encryption.

The dialler has four outputs, two with relays and two further outputs configured as open collector.  Each of the relay outputs may be configured by a "jumper".

An output can be configured to monitor and reset the internet router or fibre optic hub in the event the router or hub stops communicating.

The ED8/16 can also be configured as a network backup device, to maintain network availability and alarm communication in the event of a power failure to the internet router or fibre optic hub.  This is especially important where only dedicated fibre optic networks are available.

The ED8/16 dialler can be manufactured with a backup Telco dialler option and programmed to communicate in any combination of IP and Telco communication modes, to provide both primary and backup communication options.

For the end user, the User Remote Software displays the dialler’s inputs and outputs, battery, mains, Telco and RF signal status and allows end users to control outputs remotely via any personal computer.

The dialler setup software can be viewed in four factory installed languages, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.  New languages can be added very easily by updating the installer accessible language text file.

ED8/16 can be configured to operate with any brand of alarm panel.

The ED8/16 also incorporates an RS485 bus with an SGD protocol for fire alarm reporting applications in New Zealand.
